I am proud to be in my 6th year of working in Seattle Schools. A graduate of Seattle Pacific University, I completed my degrees in Music Education and Vocal Performance. I serve as President-Elect for the Northwest Kodály Educators, and am a member of the National Association of Music Education, Organization of American Kodály Educators, American Choral Directors Association and Washington Music Educators Association. I am also a National Jenö Adam scholar and completed the Kodály Levels of Seattle's 3-year credential. I've taught at the elementary, middle and high school levels, both in public and independent schools. My most recent professional work has included working at the EMP's Music Therapy summer camp, serving as a chamber music coach with the Cascade Youth Symphony Orchestra, and presenting on a panel for Female Empowerment Through the Arts with Seattle Theatre Group. As a musician, I'm primarily a vocalist, and also received formal training playing piano, viola and the tenor saxophone. Which meant I got to be in band, choir AND orchestra growing up! How fun! (Can you tell that I LOVE music?!)
I am also proud to be on the artistic staff of the Northwest Girlchoir, and a local performer in her own right. My husband and I enjoy reading Shakespeare plays aloud, Calvin and Hobbes silently, and making music very energetically! We're also jazz lovers, concert-goers in general and are always up for a good hike.
My hobbies include: making fun videos, knitting and amateur carpentry.
